Wind energy is the kinetic energy generated by a large amount of air flow on the Earth's surface. Due to the different temperature changes and water vapor content in the air after being irradiated by the sun at various locations on the ground, differences in air pressure are caused, and high-pressure air flows horizontally towards low-pressure areas, forming wind. Wind energy resources are determined by wind energy density and the annual cumulative hours of available wind energy. This dataset mainly serves the exploration and preliminary wind energy resource assessment stage of wind power development, which is the stage where meteorological observation stations have not yet been established on site. It is also a powerful tool to help the government fully understand the potential of wind energy resources in various regions.

This data first uses the WRF mesoscale model to dynamically downscale the ERA5 reanalysis data from 2008 to 2017 to a resolution of 3 kilometers. Then use DTU's generalization method to generalize the WRF results, and then use the WAsP model to reduce them to the final 250m resolution.
The data quality is good.
