This data includes Landsat data from Fildes Peninsula, Antarctica. Since July 23, 1972, NASA's Landsat program (called ERTS before 1975) has launched eight satellites (the sixth failed). Landsat1-4 failed successively, and Landsat5 was retired in June 2013. Landsat7 was launched on April 15, 1999. Landsat8 was launched on February 11, 2013. After a 100 day test run, it began to acquire images.
