Investigation on snow characteristics and their distribution in China

The overall goal of the "Survey on the Characteristics and Distribution of Snow Cover in China" is to develop field measurement standards for snow cover in China, conduct ground and remote sensing surveys of snow cover characteristics, obtain data sets on the spatial distribution and changes of snow cover in China since 1980, compile new maps of snow cover types and series thematic maps in China, establish a comprehensive database of snow cover characteristics, and achieve sharing to meet the basic data needs of climate change research, water resource assessment, and disaster prevention and reduction
